A People Who Rest & Play (Luke 18:16-17)

We just moved back inside to our old home, New Traditions Elementary School! You can find more information about our Sunday gatherings on this page.

Summary

The biblical vision for the church is big--we are called to be a royal priesthood and ambassadors for Christ. And yet Jesus also says that, in order to enter the kingdom of God, we must humble ourselves and become like children. How do these visions interact? How can we do great things while still being childlike? Listen as Dave concludes our series on the church by emphasizing the church's rest and play.

Text

Luke 18:15–17

[15] Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. [16] But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. [17] Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” (ESV)
